2022 HIGHLIGHTS: SEARCHBUG GOT BETTER!
It’s another one-for-the-books here at Searchbug, and we’re glad to share it with you! Before officially welcoming 2023, let’s look back at what we achieved this year.
WHAT’S NEW IN SEARCHBUG
SIMPLIFIED SIGNUP PROCESS
In May 2022, Searchbug implemented a major change to help new account users onboard quicker. Instead of 3 different account types (personal, business, and restricted access), we now have one “Standard Account” for all registered users. Registered users who want more data access and qualify can request Social Security and Motor Vehicle information and apply for Restricted Access data through a simple add-on application.
This new process allows users to self-activate their standard account without waiting for a Searchbug team member to validate it manually. Previously, users could only begin onboarding to use our services after speaking with a team member and going through our approval process.
SHORT VIDEO CONTENT PRODUCTION
Our team started producing short “edutainment” videos on social media to keep up with trends and educate our community with data verification, data cleansing, lead generation, and people searches. You can find our quick video tips by following our Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Short for insider tips!
CUSTOMER SUPPORT HOURS EXTENDED
We understand how frustrating it gets when you need help and someone is unavailable to answer your inquiry. We’ve extended our customer service support to 5 AM-5 PM PST to address this issue.
ZOBOT LAUNCH – WHAT IS A ZOBOT – SO GLAD YOU ASKED!
Introducing our Zobot! To help you while our customer service team is taking a break (hopefully, sleeping), you can still contact us using our Zobot. Zobot is a smart bot to help answer the most common questions we get from our customers. Have a question that our Zobot can’t answer, let us know, and it can keep learning so you can get answers while we’re away from our desks.
SEARCHBUG KNOWLEDGE BASE – “KB COMMUNITY”
To help our community better, we launched the Searchbug Knowledge Base. The website “KB” contains frequently asked questions and additional references regarding our services.

We’ve been getting substantial support this year, and we would like to give the love back! Searchbug regularly sends personalized, exclusive promos from time to time.

CUMULATIVE-VOLUME BASED BULK AND API PRICING
Searchbug is true to its promise to be one of the market’s most comprehensive and affordable data companies. Recently, we launched our new pricing to let customers save even more when running bulk file processing appends, verification services, and tiered monthly API pricing.
Previously, our bulk pricing was not tiered, and to get volume pricing, users would combine batch files. You asked, and we listened. Now every file you upload each month counts towards your monthly volume discount. The more files you upload (except for our minimum bulk rate for small files), our new pricing method kicks in with each file. Now you pay less for the same number of records processed each month regardless of the file size (sans the small minimum files).
WHAT TO WATCH FOR IN 2023
We’ve got a lot in the pipeline. Watch for email announcements of our new API services throughout the year, the first being a new Criminal Records API.
We are giving the signup and billing system a big facelift. After almost a year in development, customers can add more than one payment type. Soon you’ll be able to add multiple credit cards and select the default for payment or switch cards on the fly when needed.
We’re also introducing several other payment methods. Soon you’ll be able to choose to pay with a Debit card, PayPal, Venmo, Google Pay or via ACH Transfer.
