What’s the difference between the DNC Scrubber API and the RND API?
The DNC Scrubber API checks whether a phone number is listed on the Federal Do Not Call (DNC) Registry, any of the 13 state-level DNC lists, is a known DNC complainer, or is flagged as belonging to a TCPA litigator. These are high-risk numbers that increase the chance of complaints, lawsuits, or fines.
The Reassigned Numbers Database (RND) API checks if a phone number has been reassigned to a new person since consent was obtained. If it has, you lose the right to contact that number unless you have new consent. This API helps you qualify for Safe Harbor protection under FCC rules, meaning you can avoid TCPA fines if you’ve verified the number still belongs to the individual you have consent to contact.
