Good News: New & Improved Phone Validator APIs Now Include State DNC Check!

Hello, Searchbug folks! We’ve got some exciting news to share with you. We know how important accurate, efficient and compliant communication is for your business, which is why we’re constantly improving our services. Today, we’re thrilled to announce a game-changing addition to our Phone Validation APIs: the long-awaited State DNC Check!

What’s New?

Since inception, Searchbug has offered DNC Check as part of its Phone Validation APIs. However, it only checked numbers on the Federal DNC list. Due to recent improvements in phone validation capabilities, you can now seamlessly cross-reference numbers against the federal Do-Not-Call (DNC) list and the 13 State-specific DNC lists. This means you can rest assured knowing you won’t be contacting individuals who have explicitly opted out of telemarketing communications.

Did you know that 13 states have their own DNC list and regulations? Here are they:

•Colorado

•Florida

•Indiana

•Louisiana

•Massachusetts

•Mississippi

•Missouri

•Oklahoma

•Pennsylvania

•Tennessee

•Texas

•Washington

•Wyoming

We understand that compliance is a top priority for you, and incorporating State DNC Check into our Phone Validation APIs is our way of helping you maintain that compliance effortlessly. Integrating the new API keys into your systems allows you to streamline your processes, avoid potential legal issues, and build positive relationships with your potential customers.

What’s The Difference Between Federal DNC and State DNC List?

The Federal Do Not Call (DNC) List, managed by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), protects consumers nationwide from unsolicited telemarketing calls. By checking the Federal DNC List, marketers ensure they comply with federal regulations and avoid contacting individuals who have opted out of such communications on a national scale.

On the other hand, individual states maintain their own State Do Not Call (DNC) Lists, which work in conjunction with the Federal DNC List to provide additional protection to residents within each state. Marketers must adhere to federal regulations and specific state regulations, requiring them to check the Federal DNC and corresponding state lists before initiating any calls.

To sum it up, the Federal DNC List covers the whole nation under the FTC’s guidance. At the same time, State DNC Lists offer an additional defensive shield at the state level. Marketers must respect federal and applicable state lists, prioritizing the federal list when there’s an overlap.

Furthermore, we advise to also to check for “DNC complainers.” This service is also included at no additional charge. These are people who have complained but have yet to write demand letters or sue. Nonetheless, it’s probably a good idea to avoid contacting these people since it indicates that they take action against unsolicited calls they receive from telemarketers.

By following these rules, businesses demonstrate their commitment to consumer privacy and avoid any legal troubles associated with violating DNC regulations.

How To Access DNC Check Phone Validation APIs?

Since this is a new feature, we encourage existing API users to obtain the new API keys for the specific service they are using. The old API keys will continue to function, but in order to take advantage of these new services, you must obtain the new keys.

And the best news of all, this is simply a value-added feature for our existing and future API users. You don’t have to pay for any additional fees and we aren’t increasing rates on the APIs — these new updates and features are completely free!

Head on over to our website to download the new documentation, or connect with our customer support team for assistance with accessing these new features.

Wait, There’s More!

In case you missed it, we recently added TCPA Litigator Check to our phone validation APIs. Aside from DNC Check, TCPA Litigator Check allows businesses to further their compliance standards and protect themselves against any potential legal troubles with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

You might be wondering, what’s TCPA Litigator Check? This service analyzes phone numbers and cross-references them with an extensive database of phone numbers that were involved in TCPA litigation from the year 2000 up to the present day. This service is updated Monday – Friday.

If DNC Complainers simply reported violators, numbers involved in TCPA litigation means these phone number owners have escalated the reports into civil legal cases against privacy violators. In short, the owners of these numbers have a history of suing companies for TCPA violations and should probably not be contacted in order to avoid the headache of potential litigation issues.

Conclusion

Adding the State DNC Check feature to Searchbug’s Phone Validation API significantly benefits businesses and marketers. This improved version of our DNC Check will let you check numbers at both the federal and state levels, adding extra protection for your business.

To fully leverage these powerful features, we encourage our valued customers to update API keys and take advantage of the enhanced functionality, including State DNC Check, DNC Complainers, and TCPA Litigator List Check. By utilizing these new value-added features, you can optimize your telemarketing campaigns, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster positive connections with prospective customers.
