- You aren't sure if a phone number is a landline or cell and want to do a quick number check
- You want to check a number to see if the provider changed

- You want to make sure a phone number is reachable
How often is Searchbug Phone Validator data updated?
- Our Phone Validator pulls data in real time from multiple trusted carrier and compliance data providers, so there is no “monthly” or “weekly” refresh delay like you might see with static databases.
- Line type and carrier (LNP / NLP data)
Line type (wireless, landline, VoIP, toll-free) and current carrier are returned in real time using live carrier and LNP data. No separate update is needed because this information is queried at the time of your request.
- Ported numbers (LNP / number portability)
Ported number checks are performed in real time. Most carriers update their number portability (DID) records at least daily (often overnight), and your query always uses the latest available carrier data at lookup time.
- DNC (Do Not Call) and TCPA-related data
Do Not Call and TCPA-related checks are also performed via live lookups against continuously refreshed DNC and compliance data sources, so your results are not delayed by batch syncing on our side.
- Reassigned numbers (FCC Reassigned Numbers Database)
Reassigned number status is checked live against the FCC’s Reassigned Numbers Database (RND) at the time of your query, and use of this database follows FCC rules and guidelines for TCPA compliance.
- Bottom line
Instead of relying on a single static file that is “updated every X days,” Searchbug uses multiple live data sources so that each API call or tool lookup reflects the most current carrier, portability, DNC, TCPA, and reassigned-number information available at that moment.
